Whisper a farewell

"Is life very solid or very unstable? I'm haunted by these two conflicting assumptions. It's been going on forever, will be going on forever, and sinks deep into the world I'm standing on right now.
It is transitory, fugitive, diaphanous. I will pass like a cloud over the waves. Perhaps, though we change, though we fly one after another, so fast, so fast, we are also successive and permanent, we human beings through whom the light passes. But what is this light?
I am so disturbed by the transience of human life, that I often whisper a farewell. "
